Find videos, exercises and creators on Play
Search creators' videos, exercises and creators at once, filter with counts that say what each choice finds, and ask for a song nobody has posted.
Updated November 5, 2026
Play is where you find what to practice in FlowChord without leaving the app: creators’ videos, FlowChord’s own exercises, and the creators themselves. It is one search above four tabs: For you, Videos, Exercises and Creators. What you see comes only from the creators you follow, what students are practicing this week, the creators FlowChord features each day and your own searches: FlowChord does not guess what you like. Your own videos are never offered back to you in the lists; while Play shows every video, yours are among them in Videos, marked Yours, and your own site is in Creators, marked Yours in place of Follow — as long as nothing is typed in the search.
Before you start
- Sign in to your FlowChord account. Play is in the bar at the top of every page; on a phone, it is in the bar floating at the bottom of the screen.
- Watching a preview is free and never uses one of your free videos. Practicing a video is what counts — read The Student Plan. Exercises are always free.
Steps
Search everything at once
- In Play, type into the search at the top: a song, an artist, a creator or an exercise. Press / anywhere on the page to jump to it.
- Each tab’s count changes to what your words find there. You stay on the tab you are on; on For you, Play moves to the tab with the most results.
- A tab with nothing for your words stays, at 0. Words count from three letters, and your searches are not saved.
Each tab has its own address, and the words, filters and order you choose are part of it: the browser’s back button brings them back, and you can share the link.
Browse For you
For you is the page of lists:
- Continue: up to three videos you stopped part-way through and exercises you played, the last one first. It shows only when you have some.
- Trending this week: the five videos students practiced most in the last 7 days, from creators who chose to appear in FlowChord’s showcase, in your language — never the same creator twice in a row.
- Creators people are watching: five creators FlowChord features today, each with Follow. The order changes every day and never depends on followers.
- New this week: what came out in the last 7 days.
Each list links to its tab: All videos opens Videos in the matching order, All creators opens Creators. While there are fewer than 40 videos to practice on FlowChord, or fewer than 8 that students in your language practiced this week, the newest videos stand in, as New on FlowChord.
Filter videos and exercises
- Open Videos or Exercises. The filters are beside the results; on a phone, press Filters.
- Pick the answers you want. Every answer says how many results it finds with your other choices. An answer with nothing for them is greyed out, but stays where it is.
- Two answers in one filter show results with either; answers in two filters show results with both.
- What you picked shows as chips above the results. Press the ✕ on one to take it off, or Clear all.
- Choose the order beside the count.
| Tab | Filters | Order |
|---|---|---|
| Videos | Creators I follow, Style, Creator, Length, and Level once creators have given their videos one | Newest, Most practiced this week, Shortest — and Best match while you search |
| Exercises | Technique, Level, Style | Easiest first, Newest |
| Creators | Only who I follow, Plays | Today’s featured first |
A video’s level is the one its creator gave it: FlowChord never guesses one. Show more at the end of the list loads the next results.
Practice a video or an exercise
Videos and exercises are shown the same way. An exercise says Exercise on its picture.
- Point at a video, or press and hold it on a phone, to play its 15-second preview without opening it.
- Press a video to open it on its teacher’s site, in the practice player — read Practice a song from a teacher’s video. Press an exercise to open it on the digital guitar — read Play an exercise on the digital guitar.
What opening a video costs is written under it before you press it:
| Under the video | What it means |
|---|---|
| Uses 1 free | Opening it uses one of your free videos. It stays yours afterwards. |
| Last free | It is your last free video. FlowChord asks once more before it opens it. |
| Student plan | Your free videos are used: the player offers the Student Plan. |
| Already yours | You already opened it: it costs nothing. |
On the Student Plan, nothing is written.
Follow a creator
- Open Creators, or find the creator in Creators people are watching. Each creator shows what they play, how many videos they have and two of their pictures.
- Press Follow. To stop, press Following.
- Press the creator’s name to open their site in a new tab.
The videos of the creators you follow are in Videos with Creators I follow on, and on your Home. A video marked New was posted in the last 14 days and you have not opened it yet; the figure beside Play in the bar counts them, and goes away once you have looked at them. A video marked You asked answers a song you asked for.
Ask for a song
When a search finds nothing, Play offers to take off your last filter and, for a song, to ask creators for it.
- Press Ask for it.
- Type the song’s name and pick the recording from the list, or paste a link to it from Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music or Deezer.
- Press Request.
Your request goes to every creator on FlowChord, never just one. Creators see the song and how many people asked, never your name or e-mail. Asking does not use a free video. When someone asked for the same song before you, yours joins theirs.
Your requests lists the songs you asked for: those Answered, with their videos, and those Waiting. Withdraw takes one off. You can have up to 5 requests open at once, and a request no video answered leaves the list after 90 days.
Options
Play can send you e-mails. Open the account menu, choose Preferences, and under Notices:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Daily digest of new videos | At most one e-mail a day, only when a creator you follow posted a video you have not opened. Off until you turn it on. |
| When a song I asked for is recorded | One e-mail for each video that answers a song you asked for. On until you turn it off. |
Press Save to keep your choice.
Every one of these e-mails ends with a link that stops it, even when you are not signed in: it opens a page that asks once, and Stop turns those e-mails off. You can turn them back on in Notices.
Tips
- Filters and the order stay in the page’s address: bookmark a search you come back to, such as choro videos under a minute.
- The order of the creators FlowChord features changes every day. Creators are never ranked by their followers.
- Following a creator on Play or on their site is the same follow, and the videos you practice from Play are on your Home with the others — read Start practicing from a teacher’s site.
Common problems
A filter answer is greyed out. With your other choices, it finds nothing. Take off a choice, or press Clear all.
There is no Level filter in Videos. It shows once creators have given a level to their videos in at least two levels. FlowChord never gives a video a level on its own.
There is no Exercises tab. Exercises are being released little by little. If your account does not have them yet, nothing else changes in Play.
Under a video it says Student plan. You have used your free videos. Videos you already opened stay yours; new ones come with the Student Plan.
I don’t get the daily e-mail. It is off until you turn it on in Notices, and it is sent only on a day when a creator you follow posted something you have not opened.
